The VISTA will build capacity by developing and implementing systems that strengthen the Knox Clinics community engagement and volunteer infrastructure.
This includes creating workflows for outreach events, coordinating volunteers for both clinic-based and mobile initiatives, establishing a Community Engagement Committee, and documenting operational processes to ensure sustainability.
They will cultivate partnerships with local organizations, track impact metrics, and provide the tools and structures needed to support long-term program growth.
The VISTA will alleviate poverty and contribute to improving health outcomes in the region through volunteer coordination, outreach, mobile health support that expands access to healthcare through reducing barriers to essential services, stronger referral networks, community partnerships, and targeted engagement efforts to ensure individuals who might otherwise go without primary care or dental services are connected to the resources they need.
