Security officers assigned to this location may have direct or indirect interaction with patients experiencing mental health crises or emotional distress. Candidates must be comfortable working in this type of environment and understand the importance of maintaining safety, awareness, empathy, and professionalism throughout every shift.

Position Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe and secure environment for hospital staff, patients, and visitors

Monitor facility access points and conduct interior/exterior patrols

Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations

Assist with de-escalation support when needed

Complete detailed incident reports and documentation

Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the facility

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of prior security or law enforcement experience REQUIRED

Security experience MUST be clearly listed on your resume

Candidates with less than 1 year of experience will not be considered

Active NYS Security Guard License required

Must provide proof of education (High School Diploma, GED, transcripts, or degree)

Must be comfortable working in a hospital environment that includes a psychiatric/behavioral health unit

Must be available to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Strong communication skills and professional demeanor required
