Our client is a top-tier General Contractor specializing in MTA, heavy civil, and infrastructure construction projects across New York City. They deliver large-scale projects ranging from $50M to $100M+ and are known for their strong backlog and reputation in the public works sector. Due to growth, they are hiring an Estimator / Construction Estimator / Cost Estimator to support preconstruction on major transit projects.
Develop detailed construction cost estimates for MTA / heavy civil projects
Perform quantity takeoffs, material takeoffs, and scope analysis
Review construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids, vendor pricing, and proposals
Assist with bid preparation, bid leveling, and value engineering
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Preconstruction teams
Analyze project risks, budgets, and cost trends
Use estimating software (Bluebeam, OST, ProEst, Excel)
Support public bid submissions, RFPs, and design-build proposals
Maintain accurate cost databases, historical pricing, and bid logs

A successful Estimator should have:
3-10+ years of experience as an Estimator / Cost Estimator / Preconstruction Estimator
Experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, transit, or MTA construction
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
Experience with takeoffs, bid analysis, subcontractor management
Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Excel
Ability to read civil drawings, engineering plans, and specs
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Experience bidding public work, DOT, MTA, or government projects preferred
Competitive salary ranging from $160,000 to $225,000 USD.
