    Position Description

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates for large and complex projects, providing accurate conceptual and total bid prices, and supporting the overall estimating process to ensure successful project acquisitions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and potential partners.
    • Review bid notices, requests, and advertisements to identify opportunities.
    • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walkthroughs, and field surveys.
    • Prepare detailed estimates by reviewing construction documents and performing take-offs.
    • Compile scope letters, review estimates for accuracy, and ensure timely bid submissions.
    • Gather pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and analyze costs for materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
    • Review contracts and purchase orders for accuracy and consistency with estimates.
    • Communicate project-specific safety considerations and special requirements.
    • Assist project managers with project setup and pre-construction activities.
    • Supervise and mentor Junior Estimators, fostering professional development.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and industry networking events.
    Position Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED; additional technical training preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years' experience in commercial, industrial, or residential estimating.
    • Strong knowledge of building codes and systems (fire alarm, security, etc.).
    • Ability to interpret blueprints, safety rules, and manuals.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and estimating software.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to adapt and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
    • Ability to remain stationary or move within the office as needed.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
    • Work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in controlled environments.
    • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when on job sites.
