This role collaborates closely with sales, production, and customer service to deliver accurate layouts, samples, and specifications.

RequirementsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign & Drafting- Design corrugated packaging (RSC, FOL, die cuts, displays, inserts)
- Create 2D structural drawings using CAD (ArtiosCAD or equivalent)
- Modify designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Develop samples for customer approval
- Coordinate artwork with tooling vendors and graphic teams
Material & Specification Expertise- Select board grades (ECT, Mullen, flute profiles) for durability and cost efficiency
- Prepare detailed manufacturing specifications
Production & Tooling Support- Ensure designs align with production equipment (flexo, die cutter, gluer)
- Troubleshoot design/fit issues during production
- Manage tooling inventory, repairs, and inspections
- Estimate tooling costs and rule requirements
Customer & Sales Collaboration- Translate customer needs into packaging solutions
- Support presentations, demos, and technical discussions
- Provide prototypes and sample solutions
Documentation & Quality- Maintain design records, revisions, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with quality and industry standards
Must-Have - Experience designing corrugated packaging (RSC, FOL, die cuts, displays, inserts)
- Proficiency in ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
- Strong knowledge of corrugated materials, flutes, board grades, and stacking strength
- Associate degree in Packaging, Engineering, Industrial Design, CAD Drafting, or related field
- 2+ years of corrugated packaging or manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Kongsberg or digital cutting tables
- Knowledge of flexographic printing
- Familiarity with TOPS or packaging performance standards
- Adobe Illustrator or graphic design knowledge
