The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in developing a high‑performing team, owning an area of responsibility, and delivering an exceptional in‑store experience day in and day out.ResponsibilitiesBuild genuine customer connections and act as a brand ambassadorMaintain active floor presence, managing multiple customer interactions simultaneouslyDeliver high‑quality product services (branding, debossing, boot stretching, brim shaping, boot shines)Lead professional and gracious resolutions for customer returns, exchanges, or warranty inquiriesLeverage OMNI Channel tools and processes to better serve the customerSet the tone and energy for the day, building team morale and a people‑first cultureSupport the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talentOwn an assigned area of responsibility (AOR) and drive accountability within itFoster strong communication and teamwork across operational, visual, and customer prioritiesProvide real‑time feedback, coaching, and training; escalates issues as neededDeliver in‑person onboarding training alongside e‑learning for all new hiresEnsure timely completion of training paths and compliance with established policiesFacilitate ongoing training for new products, services, and initiativesWork closely with store leadership and HQ partners to facilitate and organize ongoing training in store locationsAttend regular training meetings to ensure understanding of necessary informationExecute visual directives on time and submit store photos with HQ feedbackPartner with store leadership to uphold visual merchandising standards and complete replenishmentSupport store presentation through sell‑through and markdown cyclesOversee floor and window standards — lighting, cleanliness, displays, and propsExecute store opening and closing proceduresMonitor daily communications across email, Slack, and ZiplineSet up daily tools (hitching posts, zone charts) and coordinate team break coverageManage Amazon and supply orders; maintain an organized backroomUpdate the sales whiteboard weekly and speak confidently about store performanceEnsure compliance with shipments, transfers, restock, and Loss Prevention standardsDemonstrate flexibility across all functional areas — visual, operations, and beyondQualifications3+ years of retail management experiencePeople‑first mentality with a positive attitude and ability to build team moraleAbility to handle difficult situations with grace and professionalismStrong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial resultsProven record of hiring, developing, and retaining talentComfortable speaking to store performance metrics and driving business conversationsExperience in coaching, counseling, and conflict resolutionFlexible, cross‑functional, proactive, and results‑drivenUtmost character, honesty, and transparencyRequirementsHigh School Diploma required (College Degree preferred)Must be at least 18 years of ageAbility to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; bend, squat, and kneel as neededMust be available 40 hours per week including weekends, evenings, and holidaysMust be able to reliably commute to the work locationBenefitsCompetitive salary ($25/hr, adjusted based on skills, qualifications, and experience)Health insurance covered at 79–90%; dental & vision at 100% for family/dependentsFree bootsGenerous employee discountsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage all qualified individuals to apply!
