Summary: The District Instructional Technology & STEM Coordinator is a year-round management role in the Office of Teaching and Learning that provides dynamic, hands-on leadership and job-embedded professional development to support the effective use of educational technology and STEM initiatives across all K-12 classrooms. This role focuses on empowering teachers to integrate digital tools, modern pedagogical strategies, and computer science/STEM concepts directly into daily teaching and learning. Working collaboratively with both the academic and IT departments, the coordinator spends significant time in schools providing direct, building- and classroom-level support to enhance student engagement and elevate academic achievement.
Salary: $80,536 - $98,060

Supervisory Responsibilities
Staff Supervision: None.
Student Supervision: Responsibility is limited to contributing to the overall general supervision of students on school grounds and maintaining an understanding of rules governing student behavior.

Education and Experience
Degree Requirements: A Master's degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field is preferred, with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education or a technology-related area of study required.
Teaching Experience: A minimum of three years of verifiable teaching experience is required.
Certifications: Must hold a valid Teaching Certification.
Endorsements: A 680 Technology Maine Endorsement is preferred
Skills and Abilities
Language Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, and complete graduate-level written assignments.
Mathematical & Analytical Skills: Ability to understand, create, analyze, and present school and district data using spreadsheets, charts, and diagrams. Demonstrates knowledge of technology for data analysis, basic numeracy problem-solving, and statistical logic as applied to district demands.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define practical problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, deal with a variety of concrete variables, and draw valid conclusions.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with students, staff, peers, parents, and the broader school community.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands: Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit. Frequently requires the use of hands to operate office and computer equipment, reach with hands and arms, or occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing between 10 to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The work environment typically features a moderate to loud noise level. Duties must be performed with an active awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies.
