The supervisor position is a short-term transitional role that provides employees with work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs to be promoted to retail store's Seafood Department Manager. From the start date in the Management Training Program, it may be possible to progress to a management position within approximately 6 - 8 months, depending on the trainee's prior experience and performance and learning progress during the Management Training Program (MTP). To participate in the program, the trainee must meet the qualifications of the Seafood Department Supervisor listed below.
Responsibilities include overseeing the operation of the Seafood department, ensuring excellent customer service, driving department sales, using the company system to track product sales and inventory, supervising employees, assisting in Omni channel services, making reasonable product ordering, distributing and processing deliveries, managing and decorating stores, leading cash handling and product return procedures, controlling store department assets, maintaining safe and sanitary working environments, maintaining and cleaning equipment, managing expiration dates of products, planning for promotion events, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications include one year of supervisory experience in the seafood department or equivalent, bilingual in English/Mandarin, English/Cantonese, or English/Spanish, ability to work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays, currently possess or have the ability to possess a Food Handler's certificate, knowledge of food production process, product lines, and labeling, knowledge and understanding of employment laws, knowledge of safety rules and regulations, advanced attention to detail, communication, leadership, and time management skills, ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines, ability to work both independently and within a team environment, ability to coach and mentor team members with professional maturity, ability to establish goals and guide employees to complete duties effectively, ability to inspect and evaluate the quality of products, proficient with computer programs and software to enter data and process information, and must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical requirements include prolonged periods of standing and walking, ability to use manual dexterity to grasp, manipulate, and assemble objects, ability to work in an environment that may be wet and dry and with varying temperatures and noises, ability to lift to 50 pounds at times or more with appropriate equipment, and must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary is $18.0-$20.0 per hour during training period. After the employee passed the final assessment, they will be promoted from hourly employee to exempt employee.
