Position Summary:

Doffo Winery is seeking an engaging, professional, and service-driven Winery Host to serve as the first point of contact for our guests. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and memorable experience from the moment visitors arrive.


Reporting to the Tasting Room Manager and Assistant Tasting Room Manager, the Winery Host acts as a greeter, guest concierge, and winery ambassador. The ideal candidate is confident, personable, poised under pressure, and comfortable managing guest flow in a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary greeter at the front of the winery, warmly welcoming all guests upon arrival
  • Manage guest flow by directing visitors to appropriate seating areas, tasting experiences, or event spaces
  • Provide accurate information about winery offerings, tasting options, events, and policies
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist with inquiries or route calls appropriately
  • Act as a knowledgeable ambassador of the Doffo brand, history, wines, and hospitality standards
  • Assist in maintaining waitlists and communicating accurate wait times during busy periods
  • Handle guest questions, concerns, or occasional complaints with professionalism and composure; escalate issues when necessary
  • Support tasting room operations during peak times by assisting staff as needed
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of events and tasting experiences
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand and entrance area
  • Ensure all guests feel welcomed, acknowledged, and valued at all times
  • Uphold winery standards of hospitality, professionalism, and presentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous host, hospitality, restaurant, or customer-facing experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable initiating conversations with guests
  • Professional, polished, and confident demeanor
  • Ability to remain calm, level-headed, and solution-oriented in high-volume or challenging situations
  • Able to think independently and make sound decisions within established guidelines
  • Service-oriented mindset with a genuine desire to create exceptional guest experiences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable standing and moving for up to 8-hour shifts
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of accountability
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and additional shifts as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally

Compensation:

Base hourly rate at $16.90/hour plus gratuities
