HireUP is seeking an experienced Welder-Implement Mechanic for our client in Corcoran, CA. Pay rate of $19 - $26/hour
Job Summary: Work in the Welding Shop performing mechanical repairs and fabrication for a wide range of equipment, including agricultural implements and irrigation pumps. This role involves both shop-based fabrication and independent field repairs.
Duties and Responsibility:
Perform quality welding (Stick, MIG, and TIG) on mild steel, stainless, and aluminum.
Execute precise groove and fillet welds in horizontal, vertical up, and overhead positions.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble drive systems, including chains, sprockets, bearings, and belts.
Service simple hydraulic cylinder circuits safely, including rebuilding cylinders.
Utilize hand and power tools to repair implements such as discs, chisels, stalk cutters, and rippers.
Fabricate various agriculture-related equipment and components from technical drawings.
Drive to the field and work independently to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
Complete detailed maintenance reports and technical documentation.
Maintain a safe work environment by following all DOT, CAL-OSHA, and company guidelines.
Qualifications:
High school education required; AS degree in welding technology is desirable.
Valid current California Drivers License (with less than two points) is required.
Experience with machine tools (lathes/milling machines) and AutoCAD/SolidWorks is a plus.
Ability to layout projects straight, square, and plumb with an understanding of distortion control.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English; knowledge of Spanish is desired.
Must be observant, organized, and able to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
Must be able to take verbal and written direction and communicate effectively with coworkers.
Ability to work in a timely manner and report to work ready to perform essential duties.
Other Skills:
Past welding certifications are highly desirable.
Strong desire and ability to learn new mechanical processes.
Proven ability to work both as part of a team and independently in the field.
