About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected leader in industrial fabrication and construction, is seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join their growing team in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a direct-hire position offering long-term stability, a strong safety culture, and opportunities for advancement within a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in welding and fabrication, with experience using multiple welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Work will take place in both shop and field environments, where precision, safety, and craftsmanship are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding on various metals, including sheet metal and ductwork.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ASME codes & standards to complete work accurately.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment, including press brake machines.

• Conduct pipe threading and component assembly as required.

• Safely operate cranes and forklifts for material handling.

• Inspect completed welds using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in construction or industrial fabrication environments.

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding techniques.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.

• Familiarity with rigging practices and safe material handling.

• Competent in math, measurement, and blueprint interpretation.

• Plasma cutting and machining experience a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
