Shift 5

The Weigh Operator will be responsible for weighing all partial containers of ingredients to be used in manufacturing batches of vitamin tablets, ensuring accuracy of weight and correct types of ingredients.

Responsibilities:

  • Reads batch sheets to identify required materials; locates ingredients and pulls from stock using a fork lift/pallet jack.

  • Uses scales to weigh large and partial containers and subdivides ingredients as necessary.

  • Prepares product labels and makes necessary entries on batch records.

  • Transports weighed ingredients to staging area using fork lift/pallet jack.

  • Cleans and prepares drum containers for more ingredients.

  • Checks part numbers, lot numbers, and expiration date on all ingredients to ensure accuracy, completeness and use of ingredients well before expiration date in compliance with GMPs.

  • Performs all duties in compliance with safety rules, standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.

  • Uses JDE/ DSI and Manufacturing Execution System.

  • Maintains inventory log sheets on all partial raw materials.

  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Requires a High School diploma or GED.

Certification:

Requires forklift certification within six months of attaining position.

Experience:

Requires a working knowledge of weighing operations, typically resulting from a minimum of three years manufacturing experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Requires:

  • Manual dexterity to manipulate controls of scale, fork lift and other equipment.

  • English communication skills to maintain routine written logs and records. Communicate with supervisors and others and read batch records, operating instructions, and safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Stand/walk for the full work shift. Perform repetitive job duties for long periods of time. Frequently lift containers of up to 50 pounds. Safely operate a fork lift in congested areas.

Environment:

Constant exposure to noise levels loud enough to require employees wear ear plugs. Warm temperature levels, fumes, vibration, dust, etc., sufficient to cause minor discomfort. The employee wear protective eye wear, dust mask, plastic gloves and back support.

Safety:

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

The salary range for this position is $40,000.00 - $66,000.00

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment.  Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.  

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity, to meet the needs of our business. Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.
