Hours: 11AM7PM on Saturdays and Sundays, and coverage for shifts during the week as needed
Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Cook for a position at a local Non-Profit in Flint, MI. This is a part-time, contract position. Some general responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, maintaining accurate records and files, ordering/purchasing food and other kitchen items as necessary, inventory and keeping track of items delivered, storing items, keeping kitchen and storage areas clean and stocked, assisting in planning and implementing menus, and ensuring kitchen and food programs are compliant with various regulations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve weekend lunch and dinner meals according to menu.
Clean after weekend lunch and dinner service.
Ensure that all food is handled and stored in accordance with agency standards and food program regulations.
Monitor stored food for expiration dates and discard as appropriate.
Maintain kitchen, food service tools and equipment, and storage spaces in accordance with agency standards and funding requirements.
Maintain accurate records, including menu changes, meal count sheets, and other records/reporting elements as required.
Ensure that the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) regulations are being followed.
Attend internal and external workshops, meetings, and training as necessary.
The above responsibilities are not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience (minimum of two years relevant experience preferred) in commercial food preparation, nutrition, and bulk purchasing experience.
ServSafe certification or willing to get ServSafe certification in a timely manner.
Experience with the State of Michigan Child and Adult Food Care Program a plus.
Ability to prioritize and maintain food inventory and control.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to organize and maintain storage systems.
Ability to compassionately understand the needs of a marginalized population and use that understanding to motivate your work.
Ability to be discreet with confidential records and sensitive information.
Experience working in a team environment and desire to promote the outcomes of the team over self.
Ability to organize and prioritize work, managing time effectively.
Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
Physical capacity to climb a ladder (i.e. food storage room).
