We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Workers Compensation Defense Attorney to join our legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced attorney to represent our clients in all aspects of workers' compensation defense. You will be responsible for handling a caseload of high complexity, from inception through resolution, providing expert legal advice, and representing clients in court proceedings as required.
Responsibilities:
As a WC Defense Attorney, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Managing a caseload of complex workers' compensation cases, including all aspects of discovery, litigation, and settlement negotiations.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents related to workers' compensation claims.
3. Representing clients in hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings.
4. Conducting and defending depositions of claimants, medical personnel, and other parties.
5. Providing expert legal counsel to clients on all aspects of workers' compensation law, including claim defense, risk management, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
6. Developing and implementing defense strategies, in collaboration with clients and other stakeholders.
7. Keeping clients informed of case progress, legal issues, and strategies.
8. Staying up-to-date on changes in workers' compensation law and regulations, and advising clients accordingly.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the WC Defense Attorney position will have the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 1+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on workers' compensation defense.
4. Proven track record of effectively representing clients in complex workers' compensation cases.
5. Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong legal research and writing skills.
7. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload, meet deadlines, and work independently.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
9. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
10. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation.
11. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop effective solutions.
12. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
