This is an onsite, Water Management Specialist 1, full-time position located in Pittsburgh, PA, Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
SUMMARY:
The Water Management Specialist 1 participates in the development of technical work. Responsibilities include working on multiple projects simultaneously including field assessments, data analysis, development of reports, and client communications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.
Participate in field assessments and investigations, including o collection of facility information, o field measurement of physiochemical parameters, o collection of water samples for microbiologic and chemical analysis.
Apply technical knowledge to interpret data and develop recommendations, including: o analyze data and develop complex tables, charts and graphs, o complete literature reviews of technical papers, regulations, and support documents,
To develop Risk Assessment Reports, Water Safety Plans, and other technical documents,
Participate in product evaluations and research projects, including setup and operation of model plumbing systems, data gathering and analysis, and development reports.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Participate on internal workgroups and in meetings.
Participate in communications and meetings with external clients.
Provide input and continued improvement of consulting standard operating procedures.
Participate in development of technical papers and presentations.
Assist with field equipment calibration, inventory, and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university in science, engineering, public health, or equivalent subject area is required. Preferred: master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university in science, engineering, public health, or equivalent subject area and 1 or more years of experience in a similar role.
Required Knowledge and Skills
General knowledge of building water systems, microbiology and waterborne pathogens, risk assessment process, and water safety and management programs.
Performs advanced mathematics including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.
Aware of aqueous chemistry, water disinfection methods, and constituents of Safe Drinking Water Act.
Aware of aqueous microbiology including Legionella and waterborne pathogens
Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
Strong organizational skill, attention to detail and time management
Proficient with information technology products, including Sugar, SharePoint and Microsoft Office and can use web-based software in completing work.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
Ability to present technical information and work collaboratively with internal and external clients.
Must be able to keep employee and client matters strictly confidential.
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a field and office setting. Outside work is performed for short periods of time in all weather conditions. Work is subject to travel.
