Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor
Location – Martinsburg, WV region

Our client, a well-established, family-owned utilities construction company, is seeking an experienced, dependable, professional Certified Wastewater Plant Supervisor to join their operations team in the Morgan, Berkeley & Jefferson County region.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor oversees the operations and maintenance of approximately 20 wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring safe and compliant water processing. This role involves managing staff, monitoring treatment processes, performing chemical tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. They are also responsible for staff training, safety procedures, and reporting.
Skills/Qualifications:
·W.V. Class I certification in wastewater operations highly preferred
·Class S Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification required
·W.V. Class I Water Treatment Desirable
·Abilities to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment, Air Blower systems, electric motors and controls.
· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for managing a team and dealing with operational challenges.
·Strong background in pumps, plumbing & minor electrical
·Familiar with coagulants, flocculants and general wastewater chemistry
·Ability to read and interpret digital and analog charts, graphs, meters, and other measuring devices used in wastewater treatment plants
·Knowledge of metal precipitation and media filtration
·Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs unassisted; Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb and twist continuously throughout the day
·Valid driver’s license (MVR will be checked for company insurance policy)
·Pre-employment background and drug testing will be required
Responsibilities:
·Supervising, training, and evaluating plant operators and other staff
·Monitoring control panels and gauges, controlling the flow of wastewater, and sustaining biological and chemical treatment processes
·Coordinating and performing repairs, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the facility's infrastructure is in good working order
·Travels to various field sites to operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants
·Ensuring the plant meets local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and preparing reports and maintaining data records
·Enforcing safety procedures for staff working within the plant and on other systems
·Abide by strict federal and state laws of water quality
·Responding to emergencies to ensure the treatment process is not disrupted
·Responsible for all documentation and paperwork per DEP, OSHA, ISO, DOT and company standards
Compensation & Scheduled Overview:
·Hourly rate based on experience
·Typically, daytime shifts, weekend rotation
·Overtime hours, holidays some evenings will be required
