Wastewater Treatment Operator

Seeking an experienced Wastewater Treatment Operator to manage industrial and anaerobic wastewater systems. This role involves operating treatment equipment, performing maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is proficient in established standards, works independently, and supports environmental and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems, pumps, and related utilities
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical/electrical equipment
• Conduct wastewater sampling, laboratory testing, and data analysis
• Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and GMP standards
• Troubleshoot operational issues in utilities and treatment equipment
• Generate and manage work orders and maintenance logs
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation
• Ensure workplace cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols
• Operate lift trucks and electric pallet jacks as needed
• Support safety, environmental, and security (SES) initiatives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Massachusetts Wastewater Certification Grade 5C; ability to obtain Grade 6C within 6 months
• Experience with industrial/anaerobic wastewater systems preferred
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, basic electrical systems, and equipment maintenance
• Ability to read technical manuals, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 12-hour shifts/flexible schedules
• Effective communication and documentation skills
