ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Warehouse Lead provides leadership and supervision to the warehouse team. Is in charge of all warehouse activities related to shipping and receiving of goods. Direct responsibilities are to guide and support the Material Handlers to ensure accuracy of goods being received and shipped; food safety compliance, loading and unloading materials; meeting shipping deadlines; good housekeeping and safe approach to job tasks. Oversees physical inventory count for month-end reporting, cycle counts, preparation of documents and reporting of damages and shortages of incoming shipment. Will be responsible for fulfilling sample requests for potential customers. Responsible for contacting carriers for outbound and inbound shipments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage warehouse activity on a day-to-day basis in collaboration with S&R Ops Manager

• Collaborates daily with Sales and Marketing

• Works closely with Material Handlers on the floor moving materials

• Oversees daily operations of warehouse and dock; including partnering with the material handlers on the floor.

• Responsible for successful month-end closing process and reporting for all activities related to Inventory

• Periodically off-load an expedited inbound load from other Gedney location. This may require nonscheduled presence on an off-day to ensure safety of employee who is called in.

• Oversees and leads inventory reconciliations for warehouse location.

• Supports internal & external audit as needed.

• Participates in annual audit processes, ensures deadlines are met.

• Required to receive mail on behalf of the company and scan to appropriate associates within the company.

• Ensures policies and procedures are followed; company bulletin board required postings are maintained

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have strong multi-tasking ability; strong leadership skills to manage people and maintain a respectful attitude. Must have Forklift experience loading, unloading, staging and repalletizing product. Proven relevant experience of three or more years in manufacturing warehouse. Knowledge of food product safety warehousing/manufacturing and packaging. Should possess excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Must have careful attention to detail; and a customer service focus. Ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy. Positive attitude with a high level of accountability, personal drive, ambition, integrity.

• Individual’s daily routine will consist mostly of processing shipping and receiving paperwork using warehouse computer, Sage Software. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment includes steel-toed shoes, long sleeve shirts as weather permits must be worn in designated areas.

• Individual must possess the ability to perform lifting up to 35 lbs, climbing fork-lift, driving fork-lift; standing, stooping, walking, manual dexterity, repetitive hand, and finger motion.
