Warehouse Hazmat Driver Job Summary:
The Warehouse Hazmat Driver will primarily receive, store, load, unload, clean, organize, and use a forklift to move and distribute hazardous materials and other items within the warehouse. The Warehouse Hazmat Driver will occasionally deliver materials to customers and retrieve empty containers as needed, following all safety procedures and documentation as required by city, state, and national laws. The ideal Warehouse Hazmat Driver has multiple years working in a warehouse environment dealing with chemicals, loading and unloading materials, driving a forklift, filling out documentation, and holds a current commercial driver's license with hazmat certification. The Warehouse Hazmat Driver is a full-time, direct-hire position in Westbrook, ME.
Warehouse Hazmat Driver Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Read Customer’s Work, Shipping, & Purchase Order to Determine if The Items Are to be Moved, Gathered, or Delivered
Assist in Loading & Unloading Trucks as Well as Cleans, Sizes & Labels Storage Drums
Responsible For Placing Placard on Trucks & Marks Materials With Identifying Information
Assemble Stock to be Delivered to Customers
Complete Paperwork Including Pre-Trip Logs, Driver Logs, & Bills of Lading
Separate Product by Classification, Repack Bulk Material Into Drums & or a Tote Tanks
Responsible For Maintenance & Painting of Chlorine Containers
Occasionally Drive Truck For Delivery of Materials, Pick up Empty Containers & Material to be Returned
Ensure All Shipments Are Secured Per DOT Requirements Before Leaving The Facility
Ensure All Customer Requirements Are Met For Deliveries Including Stenciling of Customer Codes on Packages, COA’s, MSDS, Etc…
Use Company Provided Equipment Such as Cell Phones, & PeopleNet Software in Accordance With Laws, Regulations & SOP’s
Operate a Forklift Within The Warehouse & When Retrieving Product From Customer Locations
Organize & Clean All Areas of The Warehouse as Needed
Follow All PPE & Safety Guidelines
Warehouse Hazmat Driver Job Requirements:
High School Degree or Equivalent Required
2+ Years of Related Warehouse Experience
Must be Able to Read & Interpret Documents Such as Safety Rules, Operating & Maintenance Instructions, & Procedure Manuals
Must be Able to Write Reports & Correspondences & Speak to Groups of Customers or Employees
Must Have Solid Math Skills Including Units of Measure, Using Whole Numbers, Common Fractions, & Decimals; Compute Rate, Ratio, & Percent & Draw & Interpret Bar Graphs
Must Have Commercial Driver’s License (All Classes) & Have Hazardous Materials & Tank Endorsement or Ability to be Certified
Must be Able to Operate a Forklift
Must be Able to Use Hands, Fingers, Talk, Hear, Sit, Climb, Balance, Stoop, Kneel, Walk, Crouch, Crawl & Smell
Must be Able to Lift up to 25lbs & or Move up to 100lbs
Must be Able to Work in All Weather Conditions & Work Around Machinery, Chemicals, & Electrical Circuits
