VSS Lab Technician

This is a contingent to hire opportunity onsite in Lisle, IL.
The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to be multi-functional and assist with hand soldering, visual inspection, dimensional analysis, etc. In this role, you will be responsible for hands on sample preparation, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis throughout the product development cycle.
Core Responsibilities
Build, modify, and prepare connector assemblies, cable assemblies, modules, PCBs, and load boards for mechanical, environmental, and electrical testing
Perform hand soldering, wire preparation, and termination (crimp, solder, weld)
Conduct visual inspections and dimensional measurements
Execute test plans, document results, and analyze data
Support root cause failure analysis and troubleshooting of interconnect systems
Prepare samples for reliability testing and assist with various fabrication steps
Must Have Requirements
High School Diploma + 3 years related experience, or Associates degree + 1 year experience
Proficiency in hand soldering
Experience with interconnect systems (twisted pair, coaxial, etc.)
Experience with wire preparation and termination techniques
Ability to read and execute test plans
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred (Not Required)
IPCA-610 certification
Experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, microscope software)
Familiarity with lab equipment (ohmmeters, microscopes, multimeters, continuity meters)
Troubleshooting experience supporting failure analysis
Pay rate: $28/hour-$35/hour
