SUMMARY: Red Star Contract Manufacturing is a medical device contract manufacturer located in Larwill, Indiana. Red Star supports customers across the full product lifecycle, from design-for-manufacturability and tooling strategy through validated molding, assembly, and cleanroom packaging. Our integrated capabilities span precision injection and over-molding, metal and hybrid machining, and sterile packaging and kitting, all supported by Class 7 and Class 8 cleanrooms and expanded capacity for scalable growth.
Red Star is seeking a senior commercial leader to join an established commercial team and help scale Red Star's next phase of growth. The VP of Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding strategic customer relationships, and positioning Red Star as a long-term manufacturing partner for medical device OEMs. This role leads Red Star's market positioning, target customer strategy, and pipeline development to drive sustainable revenue growth. The VP of Business Development reports to the CEO and partners closely with the leadership team, engineering, and operations to convert qualified opportunities into successful, long-term programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes the following but other duties may be assigned)
- Foster productive collaboration with both the leadership team and the operations division to execute and enhance growth strategies, ensuring successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate to continuously improve Red Star's established sales and business development strategy to support expansion into new markets and customers.
- Identify untapped business opportunities, evaluate potential partnerships and alliances, and formulate strategies to secure new contracts and customers.
- Analyze market trends and industry data to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
- Support a high-performing sales team in achieving revenue objectives and targets.
- Maintain sales metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress and facilitate decision-making.
- Manage sales budgets and resources to support growth targets and commercial priorities.
- Defend and expand existing strategic accounts by identifying value-based solutions, competitive risks, supply gaps, and innovation opportunities.
- Serve as a commercial reality check by vetting opportunities for strategic fit, margin alignment, and operational feasibility before commitment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, Master's degree (MBA) preferred
- A minimum of 15 years of sales experience, including working among the executive team of a dynamic manufacturing organization, with at least 8 years in a senior management capacity.
- Demonstrated success in achieving revenue goals and enhancing overall profitability.
- Proven history of driving sales growth and meeting revenue targets.
- Proficiency in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, industry stakeholders, and internal collaborators.
- Familiarity with contract manufacturing, medical device regulations, and single-use molded products is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Ability to align commercial commitments with regulated manufacturing constraints.
- Experience negotiating LTAs with OEMs
