VisionOS Developer – Immersive Experiences (Apple Vision Pro)

Location: Plano, TX • Chicago, IL • Denver, CO (Onsite) Type: Full-time Team: Immersive Media / Spatial Computing  

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled visionOS Developer to build next‑generation immersive experiences for Apple Vision Pro. This role focuses on creating high‑performance spatial applications that combine native Swift development, immersive 3D environments, and advanced video playback—including stereoscopic 180° media and spatial audio.

You will contribute directly to Spectrum Front Row, a flagship immersive sports experience developed with Apple and redefining how fans engage with live and on-demand sports content in spatial computing.

Key Responsibilities:

Native visionOS Development

• Build and ship spatial applications using Swift, SwiftUI, RealityKit, and the visionOS SDK
• Develop intuitive UI and interaction models for windows, volumes, and immersive spaces
• Extend and enhance existing visionOS applications supporting immersive sports experiences

Spatial Awareness & Interaction

• Implement hand‑tracking, gesture‑based interactions, and spatial input models
• Apply spatial computing principles to immerse UX design
• Collaborate with product and design teams on spatial UX patterns

Immersive Video & Media Integration

• Implement stereoscopic 180° video, spatial audio, and immersive VOD experiences
• Integrate high‑resolution spatial media into immersive environments
• Support workflows for live and recorded immersive sports content

Performance Optimization

• Optimize for high‑resolution, low‑latency Vision Pro performance
• Use Xcode Instruments and profiling tools to resolve rendering and playback bottlenecks
• Ensure stability and reliability during live event operations

Collaboration & Onsite Support

• Work closely with senior engineers, Apple partners, and production teams
• Participate in onsite testing and live event support in Denver

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have

• Hands‑on visionOS development experience
• Strong iOS development background
• Expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, RealityKit, and the visionOS SDK
• Proficiency with Xcode, debugging, and performance tools
• Experience with ARKit or transferable AR/VR technologies
• Proven ability to ship production applications
• Strong passion for immersive, spatial, and emerging technologies

Nice to Have

• Experience with 180° immersive video or spatial media
• Background in live streaming or immersive sports content
• Cross‑platform XR experience (Meta, Android)
• Familiarity with Reality Composer Pro
• Hands‑on experience with Apple Vision Pro
• Unity or 3D development experience
