Position Overview

Arixa's Vice President, People & Talent, will help foster an engaged company, bolster culture, and strategize creative ways to resolve challenges in a growing company, as well as continue to build People Operations from our current foundation.

As this is both a strategic and operational role, you will be in a critical position to maintain and develop business and people strategies to advance Arixa's mission and growth, helping to create the company's culture, and own the full cycle of their people. To succeed in this role and grow with the organization, you thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, are comfortable balancing multiple priorities, and have a passion for building the infrastructure of a growing business.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Vice President, People & Talent is an LA-based position initially requiring five (5) days in-office, with the future possibility of remote work one (1) day per week, to ensure close alignment among all team members. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer. While not an exhaustive list, the Vice President, People & Talent will be responsible for:

•    Serve as a functional expert and strategic advisor to the executive leadership and senior leadership teams on people-related matters and initiatives
•    Design and oversee our talent planning strategy and practices, with a focus on deeply knowing our business and talent
•    Provide regular updates to leadership on the effectiveness of talent management strategies and make recommendations for continuous improvement
•    Maintain and evaluate our competitive total compensation structure
•    Oversee multi-state biweekly and semi-monthly payroll administration
•    Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations, and HR best practices
•    Further efforts regarding career development & retention
•    Direct and advise regarding performance management and employee relations
•    Provide training oversight
•    Maintain our current HRMS systems and partners 
•    Maintain and evaluate our benefits plans, carriers, and brokers
•    Work closely with, manage and develop the Jr. HR Generalist 

Education and Experience

•    Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in related field preferred
•    8-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience required, including demonstrated expertise in strategic HR leadership, change management, talent development, and staff supervision and growth
•    PHR or SPHR certification preferred
•    Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal and multi-state labor laws and employment regulations
•    Proven track record of success in talent management roles
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong collaborative skills and ability to be a team player
•    Strategic thinking and project planning
•    Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, including the ability to lead through influence, empathy, and innovation
•    Hands-on attitude with the ability to be flexible and adaptable

Compensation

This position is exempt, full-time, with salary range: $175K - $200K, plus discretionary bonus potential.
