Description
The Vice President, Carrollton Operations is responsible for managing Repair Center, Parts Planning, and Service Parts Distribution operations for the North America region. This includes facility operations, balancing productivity, quality, and safety and building and managing the necessary business infrastructure to ensure supply‑chain operations run smoothly and within budget.
The VP Operations is responsible for implementing industry best practices across the supply chain—including order fulfillment, timely and accurate product receipt, exceptional inventory control, efficient reverse logistics, and high‑quality/efficient repair operations—while optimizing end‑to‑end business processes. This individual will collaborate directly with internal and external senior leadership teams and customers, and must possess exceptional organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills to effectively execute company strategies at the plant level.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to drive results; analyze current state, identify areas for improvement, and create and deliver solutions and KPIs that support smooth and consistent operations.
- Serve as a customer‑facing representative; conduct tours and clearly explain processes, procedures, measurement methods, internal KPIs, and more.
- Demonstrate a hands‑on leadership style; lead a team of approximately 175 employees located in the Carrollton facility; maintain high visibility on the floor, coach for continuous improvement, and hold the team accountable for delivering results.
- Manage and optimize spare‑parts stocking levels for North America warehouse and field stock locations to meet customer SLAs and company objectives; support the sale of consumables and spare parts.
- Ensure departmental processes reflect best practices and leverage automation tools to enhance efficiency and improve controls.
- Lead strategic and operational planning for the warehouse and repair center, maximizing recovery of repairable items.
- Use analytical skills to solve problems and prioritize daily people, process, and system issues.
- Identify and implement training and continuous learning opportunities to ensure smooth operational flow and optimal performance.
- Manage budgets by monitoring costs, identifying efficiencies, and ensuring adherence to financial plans.
- Oversee logistics operations to ensure all staff members perform tasks that meet operational objectives and customer service standards.
- Analyze transportation, storage, repair, and inventory‑control data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure performance goals are set and achieved through proper execution of metrics related to productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Act as a self‑starter who makes timely, fact‑based decisions while seeking input from stakeholders as needed.
- Demonstrate discipline and the ability to complete duties independently.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues, team members, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Present new projects and logistics proposals to stakeholders and executives.
- Develop and influence best practices in forecasting, supply‑chain management, production planning for the Repair Center, inventory control, warehousing, distribution, logistics, and consumable/spares sales and sourcing.
- Develop and implement effective supply‑chain strategies for material purchases to ensure timely deliveries, acceptable inventory levels, uninterrupted service, and optimal procurement costs.
- Work closely with leadership and partner teams to achieve objectives in cost, quality, delivery, SLA compliance, inventory turnover, and other KPIs.
- Review planning strategy for field and central warehouses and recommend relevant changes, including cross‑functional integration with new‑product introduction and related functions.
- Review, develop, and recommend organizational initiatives that support business goals and objectives.
- Collaborate across global and regional support functions—including Technical Support and Field Service — to manage escalations and ensure customer experience performance levels are delivered in line with performance objectives.
- Select, hire, and onboard employees; provide coaching, training, and feedback to enhance performance and development; proactively address performance gaps.
- Prepare or contribute to operating and personnel budgets; monitor spending and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Education Level:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in logistics, business administration, or supply‑chain management preferred; or five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent analytical and negotiating skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer and vendor interactions.
- Minimal travel: ~25% (customer and internal meetings).
- Experience training, supervising, and appraising staff.
- Ability to operate mechanical and IT systems.
- Ability to ensure quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in data entry, time management, critical thinking, and leadership.
- Ability to learn company ERP software.
- Ability to create clear, concise, and compelling presentations and reports with strong impact at executive levels.
- Proficiency in Oracle JDE 9.2 preferred.
Job Benefits
Pay Range: $165,000 - $180,000 plus 25% Bonus opportunity, Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; education; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
