Open to Veterinary Technicians & Assistants (VA/VT/RVT)
Dogwood Veterinary Specialty & Emergency is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to support our Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with general practice, urgent care, or ER experience who is confident in digital radiology and patient handling and is looking to expand into advanced imaging and specialty medicine.
You’ll work alongside a board-certified Veterinary Radiologist and collaborate with specialists across multiple departments—gaining exposure to CT, ultrasound, and complex case diagnostics.
Dogwood is a large, 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital serving the greater Atlanta area. Our collaborative team includes specialists in:
- Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology
- Surgery (Soft Tissue & Orthopedic)
- Internal Medicine
- Emergency & Critical Care
- Anesthesia & Analgesia
- Oncology
- Neurology (launching late 2026)
- Cardiology (launching late 2026)
Our diagnostic imaging department includes:
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Digital Radiology
- Advanced Ultrasound
- Endoscopy and minimally invasive diagnostics
- Comprehensive in-house laboratory
Imaging plays a critical role in hospital-wide case management, supporting both medical and surgical teams.
Your Role: Radiology / Diagnostic Imaging
- Assist with patient positioning for radiographs and CT imaging
- Perform digital radiography following safety protocols
- Support CT and advanced imaging procedures
- Maintain imaging equipment and ensure high-quality images
- Follow radiation safety standards
- Assist with sedation and anesthesia for imaging procedures
- Monitor patients during diagnostics
- Support safe and smooth patient recovery
- Provide compassionate patient handling and restraint
- Work closely with the Radiologist, ER team, and specialists
- Assist with imaging workflow and case coordination
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
What We’re Looking For
We are open to candidates with a range of experience levels who are eager to grow in imaging and specialty medicine.
Required:
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
- Hands-on experience with digital radiography (X-ray)
- Strong patient handling and positioning skills
- Background in general practice, urgent care, or ER veterinary settings
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred (but not required):
- RVT / LVT / CVT credential
- Experience with CT, ultrasound, or specialty medicine
- Anesthesia monitoring experience
This position is ideal for someone who:
- Wants to break into specialty veterinary medicine
- Is interested in radiology and diagnostic imaging
- Enjoys hands-on technical work and patient care

You don’t need to come in as an expert in CT or advanced imaging—we’re looking for someone with a strong foundation and the motivation to learn.
