North County Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the California Veterinary Practice Act.
- Communicate with clients about scheduling, individualized pet health concerns, and benefits offered by being part of the Thrive Healthcare Pet network.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records in our PMS.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients to communicate to the veterinarians
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to learn from and support fellow team members.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with excellent multitasking skills
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- 6 months or more as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary hospital
- Ability to perform safe restraint and venipuncture on dogs and cats
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, equipment, and medications
- Excellent communication skills
- Compassionate and empathetic for others
- Superior customer service - you must enjoy helping people as well as pets
- Team Driven - able to follow directions, support fellow team members, and collaborate to provide exceptional care for our patients
- Ability to work weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent

North County Animal Hospital is a general practice located in Paso Robles focusing on primary and urgent care for dogs and cats. Our hospital has a wonderful team and a loyal client base.
We are open Monday through Saturday.
Serving Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Miguel, Heritage Ranch, Creston, Santa Margarita, San Luis Obispo and King City communities.
