About This Role:

Do you have a passion for dentistry? Are you looking for a clinic that can provide work-life balance? Look no further! Join our veterinary hospital as a Veterinary Assistant and become an integral part of our animal healthcare team! In this hands-on role, you'll  provide compassionate care for our patients while gaining valuable experience in veterinary preventative dentistry medicine.

 

*This position requires a 30-hour work week. Schedule will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday with shifts from 7:00am-5:00pm* 

What Success Looks Like:
  • Compassionate Care Provider: Conducts physical exams, administer treatments, and performs diagnostic procedures, including collecting samples and running in-house lab tests. Assists veterinarians with dental surgeries, monitors anesthesia, and ensures proper patient recovery under supervision. 
  • Medical Support Expert: You'll assist our veterinary team with dental care, preparing equipment, monitoring patients, and maintaining accurate records of treatment provided. Handles and restrains patients safely, focusing on minimizing stress.
  • Hospital Caretaker: You'll maintain the cleanliness and organization of our hospital, ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for our patients, clients, and team members.
  • Communication Liaison: You'll relay important patient updates to veterinarians and fellow team members, helping maintain continuity of care and ensuring all staff are well-informed about patients' status.
  • Client Educator: Under veterinarian guidance, you'll communicate with pet owners about their animals' care, medications, and home treatment plans, providing clear instructions with empathy and professionalism.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting patients
  • Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to quality care
  • Adaptability and willingness to assist in various hospital areas as needed
Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of Veterinary Assistant experience
  • Experience with surgical procedures, monitoring anesthesia, and dentistry is preferred but not required. We are willing to train if you are motivated!
  • Associate degree in veterinary technology or continuing education in veterinary science a plus
