Role Overview
The Venture Investment Analyst – Entry Level supports venture capital investment teams across the full investment lifecycle, with a primary focus on deal sourcing, market research, early-stage diligence, and portfolio analysis. This role is designed for candidates at the start of their investing careers who want hands-on exposure to venture capital decision-making and startup evaluation.
Analysts work closely with Associates, Principals, and Partners, as well as founders and operators across the startup ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Source and screen early-stage startup investment opportunities
Conduct initial founder outreach and summarize investment-relevant insights
Perform market research, competitive analysis, and business model evaluation
Support due diligence processes, including traction analysis and financial review
Build and maintain basic financial models, cap tables, and scenario analyses
Assist with market mapping and investment thesis development
Prepare investment summaries and materials for investment committee review
Track portfolio company KPIs and support ongoing portfolio monitoring
Monitor venture capital markets, comparable deals, and emerging trends
Support fundraising efforts, LP communications, and internal reporting
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, computer science, or a related analytical discipline
Strong interest in venture capital, startups, and early-stage investing
Internship or entry-level experience in finance, consulting, startups, venture capital, or strategy is a plus
Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication abilities
Curious, proactive, and comfortable learning in ambiguous environments
Willingness to engage directly with founders and fast-moving teams
