Role Overview
The Venture Analyst – Early Career role is designed for candidates at the start of their venture capital journey. Analysts support investment teams across deal sourcing, research, diligence, and portfolio analysis, while developing core skills in startup evaluation and venture investing.
This role emphasizes hands-on learning, mentorship, and gradual ownership, making it well suited for recent graduates or professionals transitioning into venture capital.
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify early-stage startups aligned with fund investment themes
Support inbound and outbound deal sourcing and maintain CRM and pipeline data
Conduct initial evaluations of founders, products, markets, and traction
Assist with due diligence, including competitive landscape analysis and financial review
Help develop market maps and investment theses across emerging sectors
Build and maintain basic financial models and capitalization tables
Track portfolio company KPIs and assist with internal reporting
Monitor venture markets, startup trends, and technology developments
Attend demo days, pitch events, and startup ecosystem activities
Support investment committee preparation, LP communications, and fundraising materials
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, computer science, or another analytical discipline
Strong interest in startups, innovation, and early-stage investing
Internship or early professional experience in finance, consulting, startups, venture capital, or strategy is a plus
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication abilities
Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable engaging with founders and cross-functional stakeholders
