VALUE ADDED PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT 1ST SHIFT

• Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years background experience in production/operations environment, preferably in the protein industry.
• Knowledge of products and their specifications is essential
• Excellent Communication skills
• Ability to motivate employees and management teams
• Bilingual important, but not mandatory.
- Will be required to attend and deliver daily Supervisor meetings. As well, report work schedule to line workers daily as required.
- Evaluate production needs from previous day to make necessary schedule/make adjustments.
- Handle any employee’s grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible.
- Actively participates in group meetings, line meetings, and supervisory meetings.
- Full understanding of packaging materials required by Customer and Corporate. Film, box, and labeling requirements.
- Perform pre-operational procedures to ensure equipment is properly sanitized and in working order.
- Verify employees have proper safety equipment, and Supervisors are performing daily safety checks.
- Monitor employees are trimming products correctly to meet plant specifications, customer needs, minimize product loss, and obtain daily yield goals.
- Verify accuracy in all reporting of tares and transferring of raw materials from inbound loads, fabrication, and offal.
- Verify daily the organization of the storage room and carry over items for cleanliness and accuracy in reporting.
- Work with the Quality control department to ensure product quality & food safety guidelines are meet.
- Work with the training department and Supervisor to evaluate all newly hired employees during their first 90 days of employment.
- Assist Supervisors in performing follow-up training on hourly employees as needed.
- Directly involved in disciplinary procedures with hourly employees as Supervisors need it. These may range from verbal warnings to terminations.
