Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Utility Manager/Supervisor, the Utility Operator is responsible for the operation of all Utilities equipment: HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, electrical system, used water treatment plant, purified water systems, water wells, drinking water systems. He is responsible for all documentation associated with these tasks and associated troubleshooting. Responsible for monitoring and sampling of the wastewater system and treatment plants.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Work rotating shifts (including weekends) and extended hours (if needed).
2.Constant monitoring and operation in the areas and related equipment. These areas include: boilers, chillers, air compressors, hot water system, purified water, cooling towers, wastewater station (PRASA Station/Wastewater Pre-treatment system), Thermal and Catalytic Incinerator.
3.Routinely collect readings from equipment to establish a history of each one. Make a trend analysis of the reading taken and take the corresponding action to correct any trends if necessary.
4.Carry out an initial assessment ("troubleshooting") of the system, when any technical problem or malfunction of the equipment occurs and correct or take it to maintain its optimal operation.
5.Monitor the PRASA station and all related components within its normal functions. It must comply with all environmental regulations imposed on the plant.
6.In the purified water system, you must routinely collect equipment readings to establish a history of each piece of equipment related to the process. You must ensure that each reading is in accordance with the established parameters of the system and correct or adjust the system if necessary to bring it to parameters.
7.Take samples from the purified water system at the established frequency.
8.It will be responsible for the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant area. The treatment plant should be constantly monitored and its supervisor and the EHS group should be alerted to any problems with the treatment plant, its components and/or functionality.
9.The Utility operator is responsible for the environmental conditions within the Production area and other critical areas by constantly monitoring the Building Automation systems. To maintain environmental conditions within each area, you must monitor alarms and take corrective actions to remove any alarms that are triggered. Investigate the causes when parameters are out of bounds and generate the necessary work orders to correct the situation. Perform "troubleshooting" when the system fails.
10.It must maintain open communication with the modules and supply reports to the affected areas when conditions are out of bounds.
11.The Utility Operator is responsible for the operation of the HVAC units located in the Mezzanine and Module A Mechanical Room and all related systems ("reheat coils", controllers, etc.). You should conduct a routine visual inspection of all AHUs to ensure that they are operating properly and that they are maintained in good physical and operational condition.
12.Responsible for keeping all areas of Utilities free of debris by cleaning areas daily.
13.Perform preventive maintenance (related to inspection and monitoring of systems).
14.Comply with all training, procedures, guidelines, practices, good manufacturing practices (cGMP's), conditions of environmental permits and internal notifications of any environmental event.
15.Perform other job-related functions, as required or that may arise in the future.

Education/Experience
- Associate Degree in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, Chemical Technology, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electrician License
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in the Utilities area.
Licenses and/or Certifications
- Category 1 license for wastewater and drinking water treatment plants, preferable
Technical Competencies
1. You must understand, read, write, and speak the Spanish language. You must also read and interpret in the English language.

4. Coordinate according to established priorities.
