POSITION SUMMARY
Entry-level position. Performs routine tasks as directed. The Utility Mechanic 1 is responsible for completing Work Orders and PM's. Logs Work Orders and PM's in equipment log books. Follow SOP's to assist operators with equipment use and setup. Read manuals and look up parts. Working in the shift operation is mandatory.

Complete Training
All training stays up to date with no past due.
Complete Work Orders
Work orders completed and properly documented in the CMMS with proper attachments.
Complete PM Work Orders
Preventative work orders completed and properly documented in the CMMS with proper attachments.
Clean & Organize Shop Areas
Maintain Clean work, shop and office areas. 5S tool boxes and cabinets.
Order Parts
Identify parts needed using manuals or contacting vendors for part numbers and request quotes from vendors.
Update PM’s
Make PM’s more effective by adding requirements that are missing and removing unnecessary steps
Log Books
Log book entries as per GDP practices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education
(degree / diploma)
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required and Bio or Pharma certificate (experience may be considered in lieu of certificate).
An associate’s degree or Technical certificate in a related field is preferred.
Experience
Two years’ experience in utilities maintenance position preferably in a pharma or biotech manufacturing site.
Knowledge and Skills (Functional / Technical)
• Ability to operate a computer proficiently

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic issues
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic issues
• Ability to be gown certified
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic control systems and PLC based systems utilizing equipment schematics and specialized testing equipment
• Familiar with use and operation of test equipment such as digital voltmeters, ammeters, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators
• Knowledgeable with servicing and operating building utility equipment such as boilers, air compressors chillers, Purified Water, Water For Injection, hot water systems and Clean Steam Generation and Distribution a plus.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Must be familiar with and possess the ability to read, understand and use electrical drawings, system drawings and panel layout sheets; as well as wiring diagrams.
• Recent and relevant familiarity with execution and documentation of preventive maintenance following cGMP in protocols, logbooks and general maintenance documents.
• Recent familiarity with pharmaceutical packaging line equipment.
• Recent familiarity with Aseptic Manufacturing Equipment: Vial Filling, Lyophilizers, Prefilled Syringes and Ampoules.
• Bio or Pharma certificate, electrical license, boiler and/or HVAC certified.
• Must be familiar with and possess the ability to read, understand and use electrical drawings, system drawings and panel layout sheets; as well as wiring diagrams.
