Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080

Job Overview

In this role, the Inspection / Packaging Operator II will support in-house printing, labeling, inspection, and packaging of clinical pharmaceutical products. This position operates in a cGMP-regulated environment and requires a strong focus on quality, safety, documentation accuracy, and teamwork to meet production schedules. The operator is expected to exercise independent judgment while collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform packaging, labeling, inspection, and online/offline tasks as required

  • Complete all process-related documentation (batch records, FNs, room/equipment logs, etc.) in compliance with cGMP

  • Serve as a point of contact on the shop floor for packaging and in-house labeling issues

  • Communicate and resolve complex process issues in coordination with Quality, peers, and management

  • Ensure batch records and related documents are reviewed in a timely manner

  • Manage process-related discrepancies and initiate documentation when necessary

  • Support departmental training initiatives and work closely with PTD Training

  • Lead or support department projects including investigation, analysis, documentation, and communication of results

  • Lead or support Change Management activities as appropriate

  • Prepare and submit departmental metrics to leadership

  • Attend scheduling meetings and provide input with a safety and quality mindset

  • Coordinate and schedule staff meetings when required

Basic Expectations

  • Attend and maintain required cGMP, safety, and on-the-job training

  • Maintain all required qualifications and training records

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Support continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency

  • Act as a subject matter expert in packaging-related activities

  • Demonstrate a strong teamwork mindset

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma with related production experience or

  • Bachelor’s degree with technical-related experience

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong technical and functional knowledge of packaging operations

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on routine tasks

  • Ability to solve complex problems within established procedures

  • Effective communication skills when interacting with peers, supervisors, and management

  • Ability to provide recommendations to management on operating procedures

  • Experience serving as a team lead is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Gowning required, including gloves, steel-toe boots, and safety glasses

  • Ability to work in controlled environments

  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted schedules as needed

  • Ability to perform computer and RF equipment work

  • Prolonged standing and sitting

  • Repetitive packaging and visual label inspection for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs of force
