The Opportunity

Washington State University College of Nursing is now accepting applications for an Undergraduate Clinical Placement Coordinator on our Spokane campus. As the Undergraduate Clinical Placement Coordinator, you will ensure high‑quality clinical learning experiences for pre‑professional undergraduate nursing students across the Spokane, Tri‑Cities, and Yakima campuses. You will serve as the primary liaison among students, faculty, staff, and healthcare partners, coordinating clinical placements that align with program outcomes and accreditation standards.

Your duties will include managing the full placement lifecycle program (recruiting clinical sites and preceptors, planning and evaluating student experiences, maintaining data and records, and coordinating affiliation agreements) while partnering with the contract specialist on approvals and renewals. You will collaborate with faculty and academic leadership and address complex logistical and relationship‑management challenges to deliver seamless, effective clinical education that drives positive student and program outcomes.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

This position is on-site/in-person on the WSU Spokane Campus.

Monthly Salary: $4,061.90 - $6,092.84 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.

Required Qualifications:

• Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience.

• Experience leading or directing the work of others.

• A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

• Strong computer skills including intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams) and intermediate/advanced proficiency in Excel.

• Effective professional communication both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational and customer service skills and careful attention to detail.

• Willingness and ability to attend external events and sites to recruit preceptors, clinical faculty evaluators, and clinical sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in relevant health-related field or healthcare administration field.

• Experience coordinating clinical placements (including onboarding, experiential learning, clerkships, internships/externships) or other similar programs.

• Experience working with a formalized network of schools of nursing or other professional healthcare institutions and clinical agencies for purpose of student clinical placement, onboarding, and/or compliance.

• Professional experience in health sciences or higher education.

• Experience developing databases and computerized record systems and information management.

• Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and FERPA.

• Understanding of the tenants of project management..
