Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Trial Support Specialist in our Dallas or Houston office. There is only opening.
 

This individual will be joining an established trial team that supports firm offices across the US. The Trial Support Specialist will have broad-ranging responsibilities relating to the Firms’ litigation, practice and trial support functions.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support trial efforts as needed, including loading and presenting case evidence and media during trial proceedings;
  • Independently and collaboratively develop and craft opening and closing demonstratives;   
  • Courtroom and remote office/war-room technology setup, document preparation and working with other electronic media for presentation.

Essential Functions of Job:
  • In-depth knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the litigation and trial process;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent initiative and assertiveness;
  • In-depth understanding of court room equipment and the ability to problem solve hardware and software issues in the court room;
  • Excellent customer-service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with poise;
  • The ability to work both independently and as a team member with minimal supervision;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize assignments.

Qualifications and Experience 
Required Qualifications: 2-3 years of relevant trial support experience, preferably in a professional services organization.  
Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of two years of Litigation/Trial Support experience preferred.  
 

Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree


Computer/Software Knowledge
Required: Knowledge, facility and expertise of Microsoft desktop products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the following litigation support applications:  
  • OnCue 
  •  Film editing software such as Camtasia 
  • Video conversation software
  • Image capture and manipulation 
  • Additional applications as required
  • Expert PowerPoint skills
Preferred: Working knowledge of Relativity or similar document review tool. 

Work Environment
  • This position requires that you come into the office Monday through Friday for the first 6 months of employment. Afterward, you are permitted to work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in the office and the remaining days from home (subject to change).
  • Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.
