Biomedical Technician - Full Time/Days

Job Objective:
The Biomedical Technician works independently, overseeing the maintenance, inspection, and repair of all medical equipment to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Test and repair biomedical equipment, ensuring all instruments are properly inspected before being placed in service.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and equipment calibration.
Conduct scheduled inspections and tests to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and document all activities.
Provide emergency service for biomedical equipment as needed.
Non-Essential Duties:
Maintain and update the inventory of biomedical equipment and replacement parts.
Recommend acquisition or replacement of test instruments and equipment as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of practices, methods, tools, and materials used in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
Skill in interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
Ability to diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot a variety of medical devices.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with others.
Proficient in reading and writing English at a high school graduate level.

Education and Experience:
Completion of college-level coursework in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or an electronics-related field preferred.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in a hospital setting as a Biomedical or Clinical Technician.
Certifications:
CBET certification desired.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work performed in a hospital environment requiring frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling equipment.
Work in confined spaces or around biohazard materials.
Must adhere to hospital safety and quality standards.
