Summary: The Emergency Room Technician provides direct patient care and clinical support to nurses and physicians in a fast-paced emergency department. This role is essential in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate monitoring, and timely delivery of care while maintaining a safe and compassionate environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient assessments, including obtaining vital signs, EKGs, blood glucose checks, and patient histories.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, splinting, wound care, and specimen collection as permitted by scope of practice.
- Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff.
