Job Title: Surgical Technologist First Assistant Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 4+ years License: Not specified Certifications: CST Must-Have Skills/Experience: Must be able to proficiently assist in vascular and open-heart procedures. Multiple years of experience in taking saphenous and radial veins endoscopically for bypass procedures. References will be required. Description: Assisting in all cardiothoracic and vascular procedures as the first assist to the surgeon. Working with the cardiovascular operating room team to properly care for patients in the operating room setting. Performing the primary function of a first assist in the operating room. Maintaining accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinating the care of the surgical patient with other team members.
