The role requires a candidate who holds a valid license to practice as a surgical assistant in Virginia. Candidates without this license will not be considered for the role. The typical procedures performed include orthopedics, spine, and general (bariatric) surgeries. The position operates on a day shift schedule, and call coverage may be required for weekends and after hours. Equipment used includes standard operating room equipment. The unit currently operates with a staffing level below capacity, and the successful candidate will join a small, dedicated team.
