Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (15:00 - 23:30) Experience: 2 years required License: South Carolina license preferred but not required at submission Certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA Must-Have: - Level 1 Trauma experience required - Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap - Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases Description: We are seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide essential services in the surgical department. The selected candidate will be responsible for sterilizing medical instruments and ensuring a sterile environment for surgical procedures. The technician will be expected to float to various areas within the facility as needed. Experience in handling and processing equipment in a trauma center is essential. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in sterilization techniques, including steam sterilization testing and biological indicators. Knowledge of proper selection of wrapping materials and sterilization wrapping procedures is necessary. Candidates should have hands-on experience with various surgical instruments, including those used in neurology, orthopedics, and robotics. This role is critical in maintaining high standards of patient care and safety during surgical operations. The candidate must be adaptable and capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Participation in holiday rotations may be required, but weekend shifts are not part of the schedule. All requested time off must be disclosed prior to the contract signing.
