Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:00 - 14:30) Experience: Minimum 3 years experience required License: Current state license required Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA, CRCST, CSPDT Must-Have: - Trackable work history - No cancellations in work history Description: The candidate will be assigned to an "Emergency Team" where there may be an expectation to stay until after an event passes or be part of a relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay during emergency events will be communicated as needed. The candidate should be comfortable with emergency assignments, as directed by the unit manager. No first-time travelers will be considered. Special equipment experience is required, including sterilizers, Sterrad machines, and ultrasonic devices such as CaviWave and Medisafe. Experience with high-level disinfection (HLD) and the proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials is essential. Knowledge of sterilization procedures and scope/probe reprocessing is necessary. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in instrument functionality checks. Familiarity with tracking systems and decontamination processes is essential. The candidate should understand the loaner/vendor process and the parameters monitored for sterilization verification. Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced environment are critical. Experience with various medical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, and robotics is preferred. Current certifications must be valid for the duration of the contract. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all facility policies and procedures. References will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract. Additional requirements include the ability to adapt to changing situations and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
