Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in a level I or II hospital License: Compact or state license required Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA, CRCST, CSPDT Must-Have: No first-time travelers. Trackable work history required. No cancellations in work history. Must have a minimum of 2-3 years current work experience. Description: Ensure awareness of potential emergency team assignments. Expect to stay at the facility until after event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific pay details will be provided for emergency events. Comfort with emergency assignments is required. Unit accepts travelers with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Experience in sterilizers, Sterrad machines, and ultrasonic cleaners is necessary. Skills in high-level disinfection, manual cleaning, and sterilization procedures are essential. Ability to organize and label trays, select wrapping materials, and monitor sterilization processes is required. Must demonstrate proficiency with specific surgical instruments and technologies. Interview questions will focus on instrument tracking systems, decontamination procedures, and teamwork. Robotic instrument cleaning experience is preferred. Resources must have a two-manager reference for clearance prior to starting. Flexibility in work assignments is crucial.
