Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) | Burien, WA | Contract

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join a dedicated rehab team in Burien. This is a great opportunity to work in an acute inpatient setting, supporting patients with swallowing and communication needs across multiple care units.

Position Details
  • Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
  • Location: Burien 98166-3017
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)
  • Weekend Requirement: Occasional (short shifts, optional flexibility)
  • Pay: $2000 – $2100 Gross Weekly
  • Employment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing speech, language, and swallowing therapy services under the supervision of an SLP
  • Support evaluation and treatment of patients with:
    • Dysphagia (swallowing disorders)
    • CVA (stroke-related conditions)
    • Post-operative cervical conditions
    • End-of-life care needs
  • Work across multiple units including:
    • ICU
    • PCU
    • Telemetry
    • Medical/Surgical
    • Emergency Department
  • Assist with documentation and patient progress tracking
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Unit & Patient Details
  • Setting: Acute Inpatient
  • Patient Volume: 1–10 patients per day (based on census)
  • Primary Focus: Dysphagia and swallow evaluations, limited cognitive therapy
Requirements
  • Active Washington State License – Required
  • BLS Certification – Required
  • CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence) – Required
  • Acute inpatient experience – Required
  • Video swallow study experience – Preferred

  • Primary Location: St. Anne Hospital
  • Floating: May float to:
    • St. Francis
    • St. Joseph
  • Holiday Requirement: Occasional (4–8 hours if scheduled)
  • Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs (any color)
  • Orientation: Limited unit-specific orientation
