Must-Have: Completion of a FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) course required within six months of hiring if not completed upon hire. Description: The organization is a nonprofit health care entity with a rich history of caring for the community. We have numerous preventive and specialty health care locations throughout the region. Our dedicated rehabilitation therapy professionals have advanced degrees and certifications to specifically address the complex challenges faced in acute care environments. They collaborate with a patient care team of various professionals to ensure that all patients' functional needs are addressed for safe discharges to home or other care facilities. The Speech Therapist screens, diagnoses, and treats patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders. Typical physical demands include essential functions such as seeing, hearing, and speaking. Continuous standing and walking are required, with frequent sitting and other movements such as twisting and pushing. Occasional lifting and carrying are also necessary. The role involves operating various medical equipment and technologies. Working conditions may involve exposure to body fluids and possible communicable diseases, alongside a fast-paced and demanding environment. Preferred qualifications include prior clinical experience in an acute care setting with a focus on adult swallowing and cognitive evaluation and treatment.
