Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist Profession: Speech and Language Pathologist Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 1 year of SLP experience LTC or Rehab experience License: Valid, unrestricted license in the state Certifications: CCC certified SLP Must-Have: Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care Description: Speech therapists develop treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities, and to decrease aspirations. Communication treatment plans may include techniques that not only help the individual to be better understood but also to help them better understand others. Leads, guides, and directs the delivery of speech language pathology and audiology services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, standards, and established facility policies and procedures. The Speech-Language Pathologist must possess a valid, unrestricted license in their therapy discipline in the state. They must also meet the educational requirements of their licensure requirements. A valid driver’s license is required.
