Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years as a respiratory therapist License: Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state Certifications: BLS certification from AHA, Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care Must-Have: - Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program - Current registration through the National Board of Respiratory Care - Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state - BLS certification from AHA Description: Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients. Maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments throughout various business units, as assigned. Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs. Documents all aspects of patient care adequately. Supervises, directs, and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, externs, and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information. Candidates with neonatal intensive care experience and experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility are preferred, but it is not mandatory.
