Travel Recreational Therapist - $1,760 to $1,920 per week in Kapaa, HI

Pay Rate: $44.00 - $48.00/Hourly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Activity Planning and Implementation:Independently plan, organize, and implement appropriate activities tailored to patients'/residents' abilities and limitations under the supervisor's general guidance.
• Assessment of Needs:Collaborate with the supervisor to assess and reassess residents' activity interests, needs, and concerns through observation, conversations, and written records.
• Community Reintegration:Support residents’ reintegration into the community by accompanying them on excursions, such as shopping malls, theaters, restaurants, picnics, bus/van rides, and other leisure activities.
• Individual Engagement:Provide one-on-one engagement with patients/residents as needed.
• Coordination and Logistics:Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure the availability and functionality of supplies, equipment, and materials for planned activities.
  Avoid schedule conflicts with other hospital departments or disciplines.
  Maintain and update the activity calendar.
• Dietary Coordination:Work with the hospital’s dietary department to request special or ethnic food selections.
  Notify dietary staff about off-site meals or schedule changes.

• Other Duties:

  • Prepare, set up, clean up, and return equipment and supplies after activities.
  • Operate and maintain audiovisual equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management and ensure proper maintenance of supplies and facilities.
  • Report shortages and requests for additional supplies or equipment.
  • Assist Certified Nurse Aides or licensed staff with patient care tasks such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Operate vehicles to transport patients during community excursions.
  • Attend interdisciplinary meetings and other assigned groups.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
