Description of job:

SnapCare is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join a dynamic procedural team in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will support interventional radiologists in performing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and seamless procedural workflow. The IR Tech plays a vital role in maintaining sterile techniques, preparing specialized equipment, and delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Qualifications:
  • Active ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology; ARRT (VI) or (CI) certification preferred.
  • Iowa Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or procedural imaging experience.
  • Strong understanding of sterile procedures, radiation safety, imaging equipment operation, and interventional techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently and think critically during urgent and emergent cases.
  • Excellent communication, technical proficiency, and teamwork skills.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred depending on facility requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist interventional radiologists during procedures such as angiograms, stent placements, embolizations, biopsies, drain placements, and other image-guided interventions.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, sterile trays, instruments, and imaging equipment to ensure readiness for each case.
  • Operate fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities used for guidance during procedures.
  • Assess and monitor patients during procedures, including vital signs and response to sedation when applicable.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and radiation safety protocols.
  • Document procedural details, imaging data, supply usage, and patient information accurately in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and technologists to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Assist with post-procedure care, including dressing changes and equipment breakdown/sanitization.
  • Respond to emergent situations and support the team during acute patient events.
