Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and clinical services to in-patient psychiatric patients on an individual basis
- Assist with daily living activities, social engagement, and psychiatric rehabilitation as directed by the RN
- Communicate effectively with patients and ensure access to required services; inform RN of patient changes
- Participate in rounds and assist with group therapy as needed
- Support a compassionate team approach and maintain patient safety on the unit
- Respond to unit needs and participate in rotating schedule requirements including holidays and weekends
Requirements
- 2 years of recent experience as a psychiatric technician
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Associate degree (AAS) in Psychology or Sociology
- Ability to work in an in-patient psychiatric unit and follow RN guidance
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and care team
