Location: Sonoma, CA

Start Date: 02-10-2026

End Date: 05-12-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Hours per Week: 30

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of a licensed physical therapist to help patients regain mobility and independence
  • Provide therapeutic exercise, gait training, and assistive device instruction that directly improve patient outcomes
  • Document patient progress accurately and timely in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity of care
  • Collaborate closely with PTs, nurses, and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques to support recovery after discharge
  • Maintain therapy equipment and ensure treatment areas meet safety and infection control standards
Qualifications
  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in California or ability to obtain state licensure quickly
  • Active BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Experience working with adult and geriatric populations preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first attitude
  • Ability to lift and assist patients as required by treatment plans
Education
  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
  • Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and modalities
  • Proficient documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
  • Knowledge of safety, infection control, and patient handling techniques
  • Skilled at patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
  • Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting
